What Are You…Wednesday

It’s the return of WHAT ARE YOU…WEDNESDAY!

Today, I’m asking…

What are you doing for Thanksgiving? What are your Thanksgiving traditions? Favorites?

For the first time ever, we are hosting Thanksgiving in our home this year. Back in August, once most of the renovation work we had planned was done, I had the idea to host here this year. Granted, none of our family lives closer than an hour from us, most more, but…hey, it’s once a year. So, we ran it through my sweet Gran, who usually hosts, and she was for it, so we set the plans in motion. Now that we are just over eight days away, do I still think it’s a grand idea? In short? YES! There’s a lot to be done still and we didn’t get the painting done that we wanted to do beforehand, but it will still be fantastic because being together is what matters most anyway. This year in addition to the four of us here in our house, we will have my mom and Gran (aka Nana and GranGran), my dad and Dorothy (aka Papa and MiMi), and Mickey’s parents (aka PePaw and Grammie). We are SO looking forward to it and we have all been in on the planning to get things together for the big day.

What’s on the menu?

No surprise here that we will have a fully southern-style Thanksgiving. Here’s a look at our food plans:

Appetizers

Thanksgiving Lunch

Desserts

Beverages

It’s hard to believe that the big day is only EIGHT days away already. This year, especially the school year, is really flying, y’all. Wow! But, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times ever, so I’m really looking forward to it all. This year, Mickey and Macey are going to participate in the Gobble Jog benefiting MUST Ministries also and they are very excited about that. Mostly, we’re all just looking forward to having time together, making memories, and eating some delicious food. Of course, all while being thankful for the blessings in our lives.

So, tell me…what are your plans?

Thankfully yours,
Kel
