What I Learned About Popcorn Ceiling Today

  • Popcorn ceilings aren’t my favorite.
  • Removing popcorn ceiling material is beyond messy. It is the single dustiest job EVER.
  • We’re talking dust EVERY.WHERE.
  • I am still not a fan of popcorn ceilings.
  • But, I can live with the ones we have left.
  • The End.

PS: Our ceiling is scraped, but still not painted. That is a chore for another day. Trust me on this.

Home Improvements

Mickey and I are working on some home improvements this weekend. Our “honey do” lists include painting and sprucing up our downstairs half bath. And, of course, we have the ginormous task of scraping down the popcorn ceiling in the kitchen and then repainting the ceiling. All this on a day when it’s gorgeous outside. Go figure. 😉 But, hey, it’ll be worth it. The girls are having a ball at Papa & MiMi’s, so it’s time for us to get a lot done. Wish us luck…and patience.

Friday Happies…

Just thought I’d post a list of HAPPIES today…

  • Mariana went back to preschool today! It’s her first day back since her surgery last Friday. She was so excited to return to ‘cool today! She wore the cutest little denim jumper that has an Easter bunny theme.  I came back in time to help with the Easter egg hunt and all of the kids had a ball. We divided up the eggs so that each child got an equal amount. Mariana loved egg hunting. She is so excited about her eggs and prizes!
  • We get to scrape and paint our kitchen ceiling this weekend! Okay, that probably doesn’t really seem like so much of a happy, but it really is because that means we have no asbestos in our ceiling. Yay!! And, hooray for a better looking ceiling soon.
  • I got new clothes and shoes today. That’s always a happy!
  • The girls get to go spend the day with Papa & MiMi (my dad & step-mom) tomorrow. They are really excited about that and can’t wait to go!
  • We had a delicious dinner at Ted’s Montana Grill last night with a gift card. So good!!
  • It’s supposed to be warm and sunny here this weekend. Gotta love that!
  • It’s FRIDAY! WOO HOO!

Gotta Love Payless Shoes!

I had a 20% coupon for Payless ShoeSource, so I decided to use it today for the girls and me.

First, for the girls, I got each of them a pair of these DARLING shoes!

Those shoes are more vibrant and even cuter in person! Mariana has already taken off the sparkly tennis shoes she had on today in favor of wearing these cuties around the house. I may just have to talk myself (and Mickey – lol) into getting these in the next half size up because they go with SO many of the girls’ spring and summer outfits. Don’t want to chance them not fitting all summer. 😉

For me, I got three pair of adorable shoes. I am so excited to have some CUTE new shoes!

Mickey often jokes that all of my shoes look alike to him. Well, he cannot say that about these hot little numbers:

These are even cuter in person and are really lightweight too. I can’t wait to wear them. I think they are so fun and versatile. I don’t have anything even remotely like them in my closet and I am eager to put them to lots of good wearing!

Now, admittedly, these are pretty standard for me as shoes go. Black and versatile. But, SOOOOO cute too!

Love all my new shoes and the ones for the girls. I am so excited about SPRING and getting back into sandals and slides again. Gotta love Payless and new shoes!

Got a call today on the lab results from the kitchen ceiling materials. NO ASBESTOS!! Yay!!
